_“Operation Varsity” was the largest and last mass Airborne Drop of WW2, 24 March 1945 - 1 April 1945.  The primary participants in this drop were the 17th Airborne division.  Private Stuart Stryker, posthumously,  received the Medal of Honor for this battle.  He is one of the two Strykers that the Stryker vehicles, at Ft. Lewis, are named after.

Special Guests

_Steel Soldiers are a group of folks with an interest in military vehicles and equipment of all types.  This group came about from a website of the same name.  Locally some of the folks started and informal NW Chapter of the Steel Soldiers and they decided to get together to share technical tips, mechanical help, and to facilitate general camaraderie around the hobby of collecting military vehicles. Activities range from gathering for a convoy or parade, help with vehicle maintenance or restoration, and historic displays.  Vehicles in the group range from WW2 jeeps to some fairly current M series vehicles, plus accessories.
